
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Founded in 1975, the Irish Fish Producers’ Organisation (IFPO), an EU recognised Producer Organisation and a leading fishing industry representative organisation owned by its member-fishermen, seeks to appoint a Chief Executive Officer.
IFPO represents its members and contributes actively in a variety of transnational and EU related bodies. Within Ireland, the IFPO participates in the full range of fishing industry consultative and management advisory bodies. The organisation undertakes various EU designated functions related to the Common Market Organisation. IFPO performs a vital lobbying function on behalf of members and the Irish fishing industry. The organisation also provides direct one-to-one assistance to members on a wide range of business, financial, regulatory and policy issues. The position requires regular national and EU-wide travel.
The new CEO will be responsible for carrying out and co-ordinating all the above activities as well as managing the organisation, membership issues and finances. The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge of the fishing sector and of the key aspects of the organisation’s role. A knowledge of relevant governmental, state and EU processes is required. The CEO will be expected to become a credible and effective advocate on behalf of the organisation and demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communications skills. Remuneration, location and conditions for the successful candidate are subject to negotiation.
